The forced feeding system is the
most effective system for the introduction into the extruder of
ground material with a low specific weight, particularly suitable
for thermoplastic film.
It is essentially made up of a
collection bin and two areas for moving materials: a variable speed
stirrer, with four blades, placed on the bottom of the bin,
constantly feeds the vertical locking screw, whose speed is
maintained constant at a value set based on the characteristics of
the material processed.
The machine is electronically
controlled: the two electrical motors, with alternating current, are
regulated by inverters, while a PLC control regulates the rotation
speed of the stirrer on the basis of electrical absorption by the
extruder motor.
In this way, the system allows the
user to take advantage of the whole power applied to the extruder,
independently from the apparent density of the material processed.

The DS and DSC series force feed
systems allow easy introduction of materials coming from various
types of work, characterised by different specific weights, to the
extruder.
More precisely: the DS series uses
a special conical screw, designed to process leaf, film, expanded,
rigid and densified material and granules, while the DSC series is
equipped with a more economical, cylinder-shaped locking screw which
allows the processing of rigid and densified materials and granules.
The feeding system is essentially
made up of a collection bin (equipped with inspection/cleaning
hatch) and three areas for moving material: a constant-speed
stirrer, with four blades, placed on the bottom of the bin, feeds
the horizontal extraction screw which, in turn, feeds the vertical
locking screw which has the task of forcing the material to the
extruder.
The machine is electronically
controlled: the speed of the locking screw is set using an inverter
and kept constant on the basis of the type of material processed
while a PLC control automatically regulates the rotation speed of
the (horizontal) extraction screw using an inverter on the basis of
electrical absorption by the extruder motor.

The range of feeders for extruders
supplied by P.R.T. Service & Innovation is varied and based on the
type of material which the customer intends to work with. It ranges
from the simple TN series hopper, suitable for material which flows
very easily to the hopper with a rotary valve TR, which allows the
user to dose materials in a suitable way with an apparent density of
up to 0.3-0.35 kg/dm3. The range is completed by the
conical feeder with ACC cylindrical screws which allows the user to
process rigid or densified material with a density lower than 0.3
kg/dm3 and the conical feeder with AC conical screws
which offers the possibility to feed also leaf, film and expanded
material.
