DIE FACE CUTTERS FRONTAL PELLETIZERS

P.R.T. Service & Innovation offers a different range of frontal pelletizers. The first difference is the working fluid used to dry the cut pellets: water or air. The second difference is the system for the positioning of the impeller: mechanical or pneumatic. The hot granulation of thermoplastic materials is carried out directly on the extrusion surface, consisting of a die with several holes, on which acts a cutting device with blades. This device has the particularity of being able to vary and adjust the contact pressure of the blades on the surface of the die. Pelletizer unit, working on horizontal axis, offers the advantage of a non-deviated flow of the melted material between the extruder and the die, with a consequent reduction in the loss of pressure at equal capacity, and elimination of the stagnation points of the finished product. The internal cleaning is easier, quicker and more effective, above all when frequent changes of the color type of the material to granulate are necessary, noticeably reducing the quantity lost.

Working fluid: water. Positioning of the impeller blade-holder by means of the combination of an internal elastic element and a external adjustment ring nut. Evolution of the models DFC and JUMBO. Once cut, the granule is immediately cooled inside a cylindrical chamber, using a tangential jet of water. The water and the material go through a conveyor and are separated before entering into the vertical drying centrifuge. The material is expelled through an unloading cyclone, on which a fan for the extraction of humid air and a flow sensor can be installed. The centrifuge and the cyclone are soundproofed to respect the noise limits permitted by current regulations. All the parts of this machine which come into contact with water are made of stainless steel. The mounting of a suitable water-water heat exchanger on the machine allows the user to maintain a suitable temperature for cooling the granules on the basis of the capacity required.

Self-aligning blades holder. The simplification most obvious is the compactness of the cutting chamber directly applied to the extruder. Inside the cutting chamber , non-stick coated , acts an air flow which has the dual task of cooling and, at the same time, to transport the material to the output section . This section is constituted by a lengthened discharging cyclone, which increases the efficiency of heat exchange between the material and the air. In order to increase the heat exchange capacity, a second fan with another discharging cyclone is installed at the exit of the previous.
